Learning to Live From The Heart.
“Polly, I am sitting with Gran in the hospital she has been bleeding and uncomfortable. Waiting more definition from doctor. She has had three seizure-like episodes. I’ll keep you posted.” The Doctor said my 103 year old Gran needed three surgeries which she couldn’t withstand or this was it she was going to die.
Feeling helpless and a million miles away reading this email from my father, after a lot of crying, I went into meditation and asked for guidance. “Is it for the highest good for me to leave India and go be with my Beloved Granny in hospital in California?”
My mind wanted to jump on the next plane, but guidance told me otherwise, “don’t go Polly stay here, go into the Ganges river and send her unconditional love from your heart.”
Standing up to my neck in the ice cold healing water of the Ganges, I focused, visualised my Granny and from my heart sent unconditional love. Asking nothing, no outcome request, just pure love from my heart.
The next day Gran had a massive turn around. The bleeding stopped. The day after they took her off IV. The day after she was up and walking. The next day they discharged Gran and she went home.
She is now back living in her own apartment and was able to spend Thanksgiving with the family.
The power of unconditional love is astonishing.
Learning to live from my heart and not my head takes a lot of practice. Making tough decisions like this one and trusting is an act of pure faith and surrender. I am filled with gratitude that miracles happen, and that listening to the heart always guides me in the right direction.
